Funeral held Wednesday for Harold Beernink.
Funeral services were held at the First Reformed church here at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 9, for Harold Beernink, 62, prominent farmer of 4 miles south and 2¼ miles west of Sioux Center, who died at his farm home about 5 a.m. Monday of a heart ailment. He had been hospitalized for a time earlier and had returned to his home on Friday. Services were conducted by the Rev. Jack Boerigter and burial was made in Sioux Center Memorial Gardens under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home. Mr. Beernink was born in Sioux Center March 16, 1909, and had resided all his life in this vicinity. He was married to Henrietta Vermeer June 12, 1930, and since then had farmed southwest of Sioux Center. Survivors include the widow; three sons, Gene of Sioux Center, Darrell of Bloomington, Ill., and Howard of Sioux Center; a brother, Andrew, of Le Mars; two sisters, Helen (Mrs. Gerrit W. Hulstein) of Sioux Center and Miss Dorothy Beernink of Denver; and six grandchildren. One daughter, Marlene, died in infancy.
