Vivian Hedden, 78 of Hawarden died Saturday,
Feb. 19, 2005 at her residence in Hawarden. Funeral Service was Wednesday at the Trinity
Lutheran Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Todd
Bunge officiating. Burial followed in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden.
Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden was in charge
of arrangements.
Vivian Hedden was born June 7,1926 at Hawarden
the daughter of George and Vera (Yates) Schiefen.
She married George Vander Helm July 15,1942 at
Dakota City, Neb. He died March 10, 1980. Vivian
later married Wayne J. Hedden Dec. 11,1999 at Hawarden. Wayne died on Nov. 23,2002. Vivian helped care for other families in their homes. She was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aide.
Survivors include her son, Duane Vander Helm of
Thornton, Colo.; seven stepchildren, Sharon Van
Noort of Hawarden, Donna Hugh of Hawarden,
Wayne J. Hedden, Jr. of Waco, Texas, Kerry Hedden
of Alcester, Kimberlee Albers of Hawarden, Kirby
Hedden of Hawarden and Kody Hedden of Hawarden a brother, Harold schiefen of Orlando, FL; three sisters, Lila Harry of Hawarden, Fern O'Connell of Sun City Center FL and Carol Crouch of Pahrump Nev.; six grandchildren; 25 step grandchildren; one great-grandchild and 25 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; two
sisters in infancy; a brother, Kenneth Schiefen
an infant son, Keith.
