Jake Elbers,83, of Hull died Tuesday Aug 29, at the Northwest Health Center in Sheldon. Funeral services were held Friday Sept 1, at the First Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. Harold Lenters officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull. Funeral arrangement were handled by the Kraai-Oolman Funeral ahome.

Mr. Elbers was born Aug 12, 1912 at Hull, the son of Case and Johanna(Wiechers)Elbers. He was rasied at Hull where he attended the Christian school. During World War ii, he served in the United States Army. On feb. 14, 1945 he married Sena Mulder at Hull. They made their home in Hull where Jake was employed by the Farmers Co-op Gas and Oil for 24 years. Mrs. Elbers died Nov 1, 1990, in Rock Valley. In January 1991, Mr. Elbers moved to Sheldon. On June 1, 1993, he became a resident of the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. He was a member of the First Reformed Church and Wegman-Koele Post 380 of the American Legion in Hull.

Survivors include his sister-in-law Johanna Noack of Sheldon and Henrietta Elbers of McAllen, Texas; brother-in-law and his wife John and Marcine Mulder of Boyden; and nephews and nieces.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Henry.
