Mr. John De Groot died late Sunday afternoon at the age of 75years, 9 months and 6 days. He was born March 22, 1872 at Zeeland, Michigan and when a young boy moved with his family to Sioux County where he lived the past 70 years. During his early years he worked for the Telephone Co. and later for the De Ruyter Hawarder for nearly 30 years. He was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church.

He was preced in death by his wife Willempje nee Beukelman who died in 1926.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Paul Veencamp and Gertrude who was home with her father. He is also survived by three grandchildren
