The many friends of Mrs. Chas. Hoppe were greatly shocked and grieved to hear of her death at her home four miles southeast of Granville, Monday. Her death is a particularly sad one as she and Mr. Hoppe had only been married about a year, and the future that seemed so bright and happy is now clouded with sorrow and death. The Democrat extends condolence and sympathy to the sorrowing husband and relatives.
(In the 1895 census Charles Hoppe was 21 years born in IL. lived in Caladonia Tsp O'Brien County IA. His wife's name was not found, as they were married only about a year and in O'Brien county.)
