Arlis Jeanne Eilers, 66, of Huron, SD, died Friday, Nov. 10, 1995, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. Services were at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 14, 1995, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Huron, SD, with Rev. Dale Sattgast officiating.

Mrs. Duane (Arlis) Eilers was born Arlis Jeanne Estervig on Sept. 22, 1929, to Holger & Florence (Classick) Estervig at Hurley, SD. She attended grade school at Hurley, and moved with her family to Hawarden, and graduated from high school. She attended Wayne State Teachers College and taught near Hawarden.

On June 5, 1949, Arlis married Duane Eilers at Hawarden. They lived in eastern South Dakota where her husband was employed in bridge construction. In 1958 they moved to Huron and have lived there since.

She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, where she formerly served as a church organist and Sunday School teacher. She also coached the Youth Bowling Association for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Duane of Huron; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Lori Eilers of Brookings; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori & Jeff Collings of Boise, ID, and Barbara & Bob Meink of Aberdeen; four grandchildren, Maggie & Taylor Eilers, Michelle Collings and Hallie Meink; and one sister, Ellen Gascoigne of Huron.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
