Dorothy De Boer,82,of Rock Valley died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at the Rock Valley Manor. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Carmel Reformed Church in Carmel. Rev. Joel Bensma officiated. Burial was in the Carmel Cemetery under direction of the Memorial Funeral Home, Sioux Center.

Dorothy was born June 18, 1916, in Hull, the daughter of Barney and Hattie (Brunsting)Westra. She married John J. De Boer on April 13, 1938, in Perkins. They lived in Carmel and Sioux Center. Mrs. De Boer was a member of the Carmel Reformed Church and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed quilting and hand work and her grandchildren and great grandchildren

Survivors include her husband, John; six children and their spouses, Hermina and Ken Louwerse of Orange City, Kenneth and Gloria De Boer of Macon MO., Deloris (Lori)and Sherwin Van Kekeris of Rock Valley, Marge and Gene Van Kekerix of Sioux Falls, SD., Ivan and Arlis De Boer of Sioux Center and Donna and Brian Miller of Sioux Falls; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Pearl Tiedeman of Rock Valley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers and a great granddaughter
