Ernest Egdorf,96,of Boyden passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, Iowa.

Service will be 1:30 p.m. today at St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Hull, with the Rev. John Riggle officiating. Burial will be in St. Pauls Cemetery . Arrangements are under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Boyden.

Ernest Egdorf, the son of Fred and Lilly (Dixson) Egdorf, was born June 10, 1908, on a farm mear Archer, Iowa. He recieved his education at a rural school. He was united in marriage to Edna (Bohlen) Schloetje on Sept. 4, 1930 in Hull. They made their home on a farm noirthwest of Boyden for 45 years. They retired and moved into Boyden in 1975. He became a resident of Pleasant Acres Care Center on Jan 18, 2005.

He is survied by 10 children and their spouses, June and Dan Van Dyk, Eugene and Lorraine Egdorf and Dennis and Henrietta Egdorf, all of Boyden, Janice and John Kuiper of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Ronald and Tylene Egdorf of Sanborn, Iowa, Carol and Wm. Ferguson of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Arlene and LeRoy Woelber of Boyden, Kathleen and Lawrence Sohl of Hull, Arlan and Linda Egdorf of Orange City, Iowa, and Candace and Jim Gross of Fresno, Calif.; 26 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; a sister Rachel Franzen of Brewster, Minn; a sister-in-law, Peggy Egdorf of Le Mars, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Edward Miears of Omaha; and a host of other relatives and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna; two brothers; two sister; and a grandson-in-law, David Van Engen.
