Jacob Duits, 78, of Lake Odessa, Michigan formerly of Sioux Center died Monday, June 8 at Provential House in Hastings, Michigan.

Funeral services were held June 6 from the Kopps Funeral Chapel, with burial at Woodlan Memorial Cemetery. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Mr. Duits was born in The Netherlands, Jan. 10, 1907, to Barth and Johanna Koerselman Duits and came to America as a boy with his parents.

He married Jennie Van Roekel at Canton, SD, June 13, 1928.

Survivors include his wife, four sons and one daughter. Two brothers, Bert of Sioux Center, Peter of Rock Valley and three sisters, Alyda Kalkman, Johanna Dykema, and Louise Breive, all of Holland, MI. One son, Gordon preceded him in death and one sister, Anne Terpstra and one brother, Dick.
