Death claimed the life of Dick Duits at the Sioux Falls hospital Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church in Alton, Wednesday morning. Interment took place at Alton.

Dick had been hospitalized for about three months but had been ailing for many months before. He is survived by his wife, the former Melinda Minton of Alton, and one son, John, aged 7. Dick was originally from Sioux Center, where his late father was a barber for many years.

Brothers and sisters surviving include: Ann (Mrs. Al Terpstra); Lyla (Mrs. Ben Galkaman) Holland, MI; Jake, Woodland, MI, Bert of Sioux Center, Johanna (Mrs. Claude Dykema) Holland, MI, Louise (Mrs. Nelson Brieve) of Holland, MI, and Peter of Orange City.
