John Cullinan, 91, of Rock Valley died Monday, Sept. 4, 1989, in Sacred
Heart Hospital in Yankton, S.D. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 in St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Donald R. Smith officiating.
Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. The rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 in Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley.
Mr. Cullinan was. born June 15, 1898, rural Rock Valley. He attended school in the Rock Valley area and Trinity High School in Sioux City. He married Loretta Flanagan June 16,1936, in Rock Rapids. The couple farmed near Rock Valley. He was a seed corn salesman for Moews Seed Corn Co. and did carpentry work in the area. He retired in 1974 and moved into Rock Valley.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Cleon) Augustine of Le Mars, and Mrs. Dale (Mary Ann) Hague and Mrs. Andrew (Barbara) De Jager, both of Yankton; a brother, Francis of Rock Valley; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
