The Rev. Raymond C. Boyens, 64, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at his home in St. Paul, MN, following a battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be at 11 A.M., Saturday, Dec. 8 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 550 W. Seventh St., St. Paul. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be directed to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the donors favorite charity.

Raymond Boyens was born in Harvey, Ill. and graduated from Thornton Township High School in South Chicago. He also graduated from Wartburg College in Iowa and Luther Seminary in Minnesota. He was ordained a Lutheran minister in 1967. His ministry began at American Lutheran in Hawarden, and continued at Grace Lutheran in Tomahawk, Wis., where he served until his disability retirement in 1978. In 1992 he moved to St. Paul. He was extensively involved in community activities and boards where ever he lived.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Warwick; children, Inger Marcelin, Kirsten, Bradley, Michal, Tobler; their mother, Judy Drew Boyens; and five grandchildren.
