Rev. Everette W. Brass, 37, pastor of the Newkirk Reformed Church and teacher of Bible in the school there, died suddenly on Saturday evening at his home while preparing a sermon.

He was born August 6, 1912, at Stillman Valley, Illinois, and has been in the ministry for the past eleven years. He served the Newkirk Reformed Church three and a half years.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl, three children, Barbara and Billie and Johnny, the youngest being three years old; his father and mother, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services were held from the home and church in Newkirk on Tuesday, January 17th, and the body was then sent to German Valley, Illinois for final interment on Thursday, Jan. 19.

Newkirk school has been closed for the week and sports activities postponed. The pastor had been time keeper at the basketball games.
