Mrs. George Bormann, 87, of Granville, died Wednesday, July 10th in the LeMars hospital.
Services were at 10:30 A.M., Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Granville. The Rev. Francis Nemmers officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen.
Mrs. Bormann, the former Rose Schilmoeller, was born July 14, 1898, in Granville where she was raised and educated. She married George Bormann on Nov. 23, 1921, in Granville. He died Feb. 22, 1973. Mrs. Bormann lived in the Granville area most of her life and was employed at the Beck Store in Granville.
She was the organist for St. Joseph's Church for many years and was a cook at St. Joseph's High School for about five years. She had been a resident of the Happy Siesta Retirement Home in Remsen since March 26, 1980.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the church guild, and Christian Mothers. She was instrumental in the organization of the Ladies Catholic Order of Foresters in Granville and was a charter member.
She is survived by a brother, Joe Schilmoeller of Remsen, and two sisters, Mrs. John (Anna) Henrich of Madison, MN, and Mrs. Al (Marcella) Bennier of Palmyra, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Henry & Helena (Wessling) Schilmoeller and three sisters, Mrs. Tony (Christine) Bunkers, Miss Celia and Miss Julia.
