Efrain Granillo Cespedes, 28 of Sioux Center died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital.
Visitation with the family present will be held Tuesday from 4-9PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A prayer vigil will be at 7:30PM.
A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 7:30PM at Christ the King Catholic Church of Sioux Center with Father Douglas Klein officiating.
Efrain Granillo Cespedes was born May 3, 1982 in the city of Cuahutepec, Hgo. Mexico and was raised in Santo Maria Nativitas, Hgo. His parents Jose Efrain Granillo and Araceli Cespedes Gonzales raised him along side his siblings, four sisters: Esther, Isabel, Julleta and Yanin and brother Julio Cesar.
Efrain was 16 years old he came to the United States to the town of Sioux Center, Iowa. He lived in Sioux Center for two years before returning to Mexico where he married Elizabeth Hernandez. He was 18 and she was 17 years old when they had their first child, Jesus Isai Granillo. Two and a half months after their son was been born they baptized him and Efrain returned to the United States to provide a better life for his family. Nine months later, Elizabeth and Jesus moved to the United States so the family could be together. Elliot Granillo was born three years later. Two years after Elliot was born, the couple was blessed with a daughter, Brittany Elizabeth Granillo.
