Mrs. Lawson had been failing in health for the past several months and she was taken seriously ill on Mother's Day at the home of her daughter, Mr. Ruby Anderton in Alcester. She was cared for at the home of her duaghter and she then entered the Hawarden hospital where she remained a few days.
When it was learned that medical aid could do nothing for her she was removed to her home where she passed away last Friday.

At the age of two she came to Dakota Territory with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. N. P. Ericson, when the family settled on the homestead, known now for fifty years as the Ericson homestead. Here with her brothers she grew up to womanhood. She was converted at an early age in a revival in the Big Springs settlement and was baptized in 1888 by Rev. J. P. For a short time they resided on their farm near Flasher ND, and they later returned to the old home near Alcester where she lived until her death. Her church asscoiation have always been in Big Springs and she was the first elected organist of the Big Spring Baptist church and at the church's 60th anniversary it was stated that Mrs. Lawson held the distinction of holding the longest continuous membership in the choir. Her church work was her life and one of her last acts before her final sickness was to get a quilt for the coming Sewing Siciety sale when her physical condition even then was in a grave state. In her home her ability, her sypathy and tenderness, together with a sweet disposition, all went into the making of such a home whose memory will always remain a rich heritage to her girls and boys even to the end of their days. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and nine children. Her passing is truly a loss to this community as well as Alcester. He rchurch association here made her friends who will feel her loss keenly.
