Mildred E. Carlson,91, of Hawarden, Iowa died on Friday, August 25, 1989 in a Sioux City Hospital.

Services were conducted on Tuesday afterrnoon, August 29, at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden, Jim Spicer officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemeterry at Hawardewn.

Mrs. Carlson the former Mildred Nelson was born on May 3, 1898 on a farm in Union County, SD., five miles west of Hawarden. She moved with her parents to Hawarden at the age of five, and attended Hawarden schools. She married John O. Carlson on December 6, 1918 in Minneapolis,MN. Mrs. Carlson was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include a son,Curtis, of Hawarden; a daughter, Maxine Lucht of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son, Burnell
