Bennie, as he was familiarly known by his friends, was well liked from youth up. He was of that jolly, cheery disposition, always seeing the bright side of life. He was devoted to his
family and a real friend to everyone.
His passing in the prime of life leaves much sadness. He had only thoughts for his loved ones in his last hours.
His father and brother-in-law hastened to Rochester when they received the news that his condition was critical but he had passed away before they reached his bedside. His wife and
children were here for the funeral.Source: Hawarden Independent, July 9, 1936
