Frieda De Haas.76, of Graneville,Washington, died Thursday, May 31, at the Sycamore Glen Adult Home in Clarkston, Washington. She suffered from Alzheimer's disease and died from natural causes.
Services were June 5 at the Noland-Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville with the Rev. Harold Gott from Grangeville Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery, Grangeville, Washington.
Mrs. De Haas was born February 14, 1925 to Adolf and Alice (Tamminga) Eshuis in Ireton. She attended school at Sioux Center. Her mother died and her father was remarried in 1935 to her stepmother, Martha. She helped her stepmother care for her younger brothers and sisters until she moved to Grangeville in 1955. She married Marion De Haas June 18, 1958, in Sioux Center. The couple moved to Grangeville and then to a farm near Grangeville where she resided until her death. They adopted three children; Nancy,James and Patricia.
She was an active member of the Christian Reformed Church. She was known for her love and devotion to God and for her loving care of family and services to anyone in need. She enjoyed talking,crocheting,embroidery,beadwork,reading,singing and fishing
Survivors include her husband of nearly 43 years; two daughters, Nancy Broadwater of Huntsville, Alabama, and Patrica De Haas of Boise; a son and his wife, James and Dee Ann De Haas of Spokane; four grandchildren; three sisters, Jessie Voetburg and Henrietta Driesen, both of Rock Valley and Margene Kooima of Sioux Falls; and two brother, Adolf Eshuis of Rock Valley and Cornelius Eshuis of Orange City,
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stepmother and three sisters Al;ice, Geraldine and Anna Mae.
