Donald Dick Freriks was born JUly 15, 1911 in Orange City, the son of Dick and Tracy(Vellinga)Freriks. He was raised in Orange City. On January 28, 1933 he married Margery Johanna Bloemendaal in Nebraska. They made their home in Alton. In 1930 Don started a trucking business which he opertated until retiring in 1989. Mr. and Mrs. Freriks moved to Orange City in 1990, In 1998 Don joined Marge at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. Mr.Freriks died December 30, 2002 in Orange City at the age of 91Survivors inclued his wife of 69 years two daughters Gretchen Graves and Mary and her husband Daryl Wiernda all of Sioux Falls, SD.,five grandchildren Dan and Matt Graves, Ann Rowland, Allison Suttle and Sharah Wiernda, two great grandchildren; three brothers Bill,Vern and Bob Freriks and two sisters Norma De Jager and Helen Stover. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Mae Mouw and Margaret Bloemendaal and a son in law Terry Graves
Memorial may be directed to the Alton Reformed Church in Alton and the First Lutheran Church Media Ministry in Sioux Falls. There was a memorial service on Thursday, January 2, at the Alton Refortmed Church. The Rev. Robert Vander Schaaf officiatied. Burial was ar Nassau Township Cemetery, near Alton.
