Wayne Lester Miller, 53, of Hawarden, died Sunday, Sept 7, 2003 at his residence in Hawarden following a lengthy illness. Funeral services was Sept. 10 at the Truinity Lutheran Chruch with the Rev. Todd Bunge officiating. Burial was in the Grace hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Porter Funeral home in Hawarden was in charge of arrangements.
Wayne Lester Miller was born Nov. 24, 1949 in Rock Valley, the son of Russell and Jennie Smit Miller. He graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1969.
He married Joyce Breuer Feb. 12, 1972 in Hull. After a short stay in Phoenix AZ. they made their home in Hawarden. Wayne was employed with the meat packing company befoe joinin Coilcraft in November of 1986.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church in Hawarden. Wayne's siblings nicknamed him 'Hot Dog' and Sure Shot.
Survivors include daughter Amy Martinex of Hawarden; one grandchild; a brother, Russell of Canton; two sisters, Kathy DenBoer of Sioux Falls, and Elsie Evens of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Miller of Hawarden; his loving companion, Marley Lohr and Sheila Bray, both of Ottawa IL, and Teresa Olson of Tea; and Marlys' 10 grandchldren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harvey and Pete.
