Mrs. Fred Ratchje, 98, of Alcester, died Oct. 22 in an Alcester nursing home.

Services were at 11 A.M., Oct. 25 in Nathanael Lutheran Church. The Rev. George Metzenthin officiated. Burial was at 2 P.M., in Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City with the Wass Funeral Home of Alcester in charge.

Mrs. Ratchje, the former Anna Solberg, was born June 20, 1877, in Orkdal, Norway. She came to the United States and Alcester in 1902. In 1903, she moved to Sioux City. She was married Oct. 28, 1911, in Sioux City. Mr. & Mrs. Ratchje lived in Sioux City until 1972 when they moved back to Alcester.

Survivors include the widower; and a daughter, Miss Evelyn Ratchje of Alcester.
