Virgil Harris, 74, of Akron, died Oct. 22 at a Sioux City hospital of a brief illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M., Oct. 25 in St. Patrick Catholic Church at Akron. The Rev. Stanley Stone officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The Rosary was recited at 4 P.M., Oct. 24 by the Catholic Daughters of America and at 8 P.M., by the parish, both at Schroeder Funeral Home.

Mr. Harris was born Sept. 28, 1901, at Akron. He married Bernice Ross May 12, 1940, at Akron. They farmed in the Akron area until 1968 when they retired to Akron.

Survivors include the widow; daughters, Mrs. Margaret Ann Green of Omaha, and Mrs. Kathleen Wienhold of Minneapolis; a son, Greg of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Bernice Snyder of Akron.
