Ireton, IA - Robert Brown, 81, of Paullina, a pioneer of Ireton, died last Friday at his home.

His nephew and wife, Mr. & Mrs. Herb Brown of McNally called on him last Friday and while they were there the elderly Mr. Brown died.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian Church at Paullina. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton.

He was born April 14, 1872, at Allegheny City, PA. In 1887 he came to Ireton and located on a farm. He attended the Ireton high school and was a member of the first graduating class of Ireton in 1890.

He was married to Miss Elizabeth Steward of Ireton, March 14, 1894. In 1912 he moved to Paullina and engaged in farming and dairying. He was a well known breeder of Holstein cattle. For many years he served on the school board at Paullina.

He is survived by four children; Mrs. Marvin Smith and Wallace Brown of Paullina, Mrs. Irvin Brogan of Thornton, Iowa, Robert of Davenport, Iowa, and one brother, George T. Brown of Ireton; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
