Francis O'Meara Succumbs While On A Vacation

Francis F O'Meara, 62, 1607 Virginia St., Sioux City, former Hawarden resident and brother of Mrs. Durette Ney and Mike and Paul O'Meara, died following a heart attack Monday while on vacation in Indio, Calif.

Mr. O'Meara was born May 6, 1902, at Hawarden. He married Rosina Ricklefs here on June 7, 1934.

He went to Sioux City in 1925 and was associated with several commission firms at the Sioux City stockyards before his retirement in 1961.

He was a member of Cathedral of the Epiphany church.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Robert G. of Sioux Falls; a daughter, Mrs. D. B. Aalfs of Lincoln; eight sisters, Mrs. Cecelia Goergen and Mrs. Irene Graff, both of Granville, Iowa; Miss Josephine O'Meara of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Helen Duncanson of Albuquerque, N. M., Mrs. Eva Conway in Florida, Mrs. Ney of Hawarden, Mrs. Pauline Pederson of Wichita, Kan., and Mrs. Catherine LaVelle of St. James, Minn.; four brothers, John of Schenectady, N.Y., Paul and Michael, both of Hawarden and Bob of Mountain City, Neb., and three grandchildren.

The body will be brought to the Heaton-Westcott Funeral Home.
