Hattie Van Meeteren
(December 17, 1913 - January 9, 2011)
Funeral services for Hattie Van Meeteren, age 97, of Sheldon, Iowa, who passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn, Iowa. Her services will be Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon, Iowa with the Rev. David Brower, officiating.
Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa.

Hattie Van Meeteren was born on Dec 17, 1913, in O’Brien county, the daughter of Marinus and Gertie (Peters) Van Meeteren. She received her education in a country school.
After completing her education, she helped care for the farm and her parents and for many years she had made her home with her sister, Jeannette, and her brother, John, on the farm.
Hattie moved into the Good Sameritan Home in George in December 2005 and later trasferred to Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn in April 2006
Hattie was amember of the First Feformed Church in Sheldon. She enjoyed baking and being outside.
A brother, William Van Meeteren of Sheldon as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive Hattie’s passing. She has several nieces and nephews living around Boyden
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Nick, Chrisitian, Morris and John (on Nov. 26, 2010), and sister, Jeannette.
Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Boyden and Sheldon was in charge of the arrangements.
