Gladys Bruinsma, December 28, 1911-February 23, 1995

Gladys Bruinsma, 83, of Sioux Center died Thursday, February 23, following a brief illness. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 27, at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Carl Boersma officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens.

The former Gladys Boeyink was born December 28, 1911, in Sioux Center, the daughter of Ralph and Agnes (Muilenburg) Boeyink. She married Sam Bruinsma March 3, 1933, in Sioux Center. She began working at Sioux Center Hospital in 1960 and worked there for many years.

Survivors include her husband; nine sons, Byron, Wayne and his wife Mardy, Robert and his wife Lorna, Joel and his wife Donna, and Paul, all of Sioux Center, Stan and his wife Mary of Houston, Texas, Randy and his wife Rita of Worthington, Minnesota, and Sam and Frank of Fullerton, California; three daughters and their husbands, Mrs. William (Alda) Severson and Mrs. Gary (Judy) Wilson, both of Sioux Falls, and Mrs. Tom (Nancy) De Bondt of Sioux Center; four sisters, Joyce Muller and Bobby Colon, both of Sioux Center, Lee Russell of Le Mars and Donna Kwikkle of Rock Rapids; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, David; two brothers, Jake and Gary Boeyink; a sister, Esther Bleeker; and a granddaughter.
