MRS. W. J. BRUINS

Mrs. William John Bruins (nee Margaretha Mouw), formerly of Sioux Center, passed away May 24, after a lingering illness. She was a resident of Pilgrims' Haven Christian Home for the Aged in Artesia, Calif., and was laid to rest in Sunnyside at Long Beach between her husband, who passed away in Sioux Center in 1953, and son, Aldred, who died in 1963.

She was born in the Ancestral Mouw homestead west of Sioux Center and raised her family here, but spent the last 20 years in Bellflower, Calif.

Two infant sons are buried in Sioux Center and five grandchildren preceded her and are also in Sunnyside Cemetery.

She leaves to mourn a sister, Mrs. Johanna Van Roekel of Sioux Center and two brothers, Ben B. and Peter B. Mouw of Sioux Center.

Surviving are nine children -- John William and Ben of Larchwood, Mary Stroup of Long Beach, Margaret Van Kooten of Long Island, Kan., Vivian Koolmees of Artesia, Betty Harris of Riverside, Robert Henry of Whittier, Robert Earl of Riverside, Eileen Rees of Hemet.

Also surviving her are 30 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A brother-in-law, Alfred (V. W.) Bruins, is at the Christian Home for the Aged in Artesia.
