Former Hawarden Resident Dies At The Age Of 77

Funeral services for Gerhad Rouwen,77, of Perham, Minn., former Hawarden resident and brother of Mrs. Minnie Boyer, who died Saturday, December 19, were held at 9 o'clock last Tuesday morning at St. Stanislaus Catholic church there. Fr. Fadroeski officiating. Interment was at Perham. The rosary was recited at the funeral home Monday night.

Mr. Rouwen was born in the Netherlands in 1887 and came to this country in 1912. He resided on a farm near Hawarden, later moving to town. About 13 years ago he mived to Perham.

Survivors include the widow Lois nee (Garnett); three children Dennis, Kathleen and Margaret; and four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Boyer of Hawarden who with her son, Benton, attended the funeral. Mrs. Stanley Lawton of Bellflowers, Calif., and two in the Netherlands.
