Rites Held For Mrs.Van Sickle

Mrs.Lottie Van Sickle,72,former Hawarden resident who died in a Santa Rosa, Cilf.,hospital Tuesday of last week was a sister of Mrs.Margaret Miller, Mrs. Cora Burket and Mrs. Fred Vernon

She was born May 18, 1892 in Hawarden and spent most of her life here. She attended the public schools and graduated from high school in 1911. She married Seal Van Sickle in October 16, 1912 in Hawarden. He died two and a half years ago in California and was buried at Soldad. His wife was buried at his side last week.

Mrs. Van Sickle helped her husband a great deal when they operated Seal's Tavern in Hawarden, now the Steak House which still display a number of Mr. Van Sickle painting.

For the past two years she had been cared for in a nursing home at Santa Rosa. The Van Sickles had moved to California from Hawarden 16 years ago.
