A requiem high mass was said by Fr. L. Friedman at St. Mary's Catholic church here Tuesday morning for Mrs. Edward M. Braun, the former Mary Ronan who lived here as a child.

Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock at the Crosbey Kunoid Funeral home in Omaha where Mrs. Braun died in a hosptial Friday after a seven month illness. Rev. Fr. Hupp of Christ the King Catholic church was in charge of the funeral mass. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.

Mary Ronan was born October 3, 1921, a daughter of Mr. amd Mrs. Dan Ronan at Hawarden. She became a beauty operator following which she became owner and operator of Mary's Beauty salon at 1005 Pierce street in Sioux City and the West Hotel Beauty salon. She later operated the Driftwood Beauty salon at Omaha when her husband, a hog buyer for Armour's at Sioux City was moved to Omaha five years ago to be employed by the same firm there.

Survivors include the widower; a daughter Rona; six sisters, Mrs. Alice Schiefen of Alcester, Mrs. Florence Dutton of Billings, Mont., Mrs. Elien Hurley and Mrs. Margaret McVay of Canton, Mrs. Katherine Tomjack of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Irene Batcheider of Akron, two brothers John Ronan of Ashland, VA., and Gene Ronan of Rapid City, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ronan of Canton.
