Mary Margaret Brown, 90, of Phoenix, formerly of Sioux City, died on April 10, 2006. Services
were held at the First United Methodist Church in Phoenix, on April 15 with the Hansen Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
Mary Margaret Brown was born Jan. 23, 1916 in Sioux City the daughter of Edward and Ida (Murrison Jones. She married Rev. B. Roy Brown Sept. 7, 1943. Together, they served Methodist churches in Iowa and Nebraska for nearly 40 years. The Brown family moved to Hawarden as pastor of the Methodist Church in 1948. They retired to the Beatitudes in Phoenix in 1993. Mary Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Methodist Women and P.E.O. Chapter AJ.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Nancy Philippi of Phoenix; son, Steve Brown of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one granddaughter; sister, Dr. Catherine Jones of Eugene, Ore. and numerous nephews and nieces.
