Mrs. Dorothy Kleinhesselink, age 85, of Orange City, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City.

There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, October 26, at 10:30am, at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Stanley Vandersall will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. There will be a prayer service on Tuesday, at 9:30am, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.

Visitation will be after 4:00pm on Monday, with the family present from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at the funeral home.

Dorothy Alice was born on May 18, 1925, in Ocheyedan, the daughter of Arie and Jennie (Westra) Drost. She was raised in Ocheyedan, where she attended school.

On August 14, 1946, she married Harold James Kleinhesselink in Orange City. They farmed at Orange City, where she was a homemaker and also worked at K-Products and the Maurice –Orange City Schools. In 1998, they retired into Orange City. In May of 2007, they moved to the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City. Harold passed away on August 16, 2008.
On October 11 of this year, Mrs. Kleinhesselink became a resident of the Heritage House.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she participated in the Ruth Circle. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary in Orange City and was involved in the Foster Grandparent program.

"Dode" enjoyed spending time with her family, doing word search puzzles, and listening to Gaither music.

Survivors include her two daughters and their husbands, Brenda and Harlan Vande Berg, of Fort Dodge; and Beverly and Robert Rohrs, of Orange City; a son and his wife, Brian and Carole Kleinhesselink, of Orange City; five grandchildren, Jeff Vande Berg, and his wife, Melissa; Eric Vande Berg, and his wife, Jodi; Pam, and her husband, Rob Shroyer; Kelly Kleinhesselink; and Chad Kleinhesselink; seven great-grandchildren, Jack, Benjy, and Zoey Vande Berg; Olivia, Audrey, and Henry Vande Berg; and Hannah Shroyer; and four sisters-in-law, Frieda Drost, of Denver, Colorado; Doris Drost, of Sioux City; Harriet, and her husband, Duane Vande Brake, of Maurice; and Harriet Kleinhesselink, of Orange City.
