Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Rhodes,64, longtime Hawarden resident who died Saturday at an Iowa City hospital, were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Barnard Funeral home. Dr. G.S. Bruland of the Methodist church officiated with burial in Grace Hill cemetery under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Mr. Rhodes, the former Florence Berner, was born March 30 1900 at Gladbrook, Iowa. She came to Hawarden with her parents in 1909. She married Edward Rhodes at Decatur, Ill., November 8, 1921 . He died in 1927 and she returned to Hawarden the same year. Mrs. Rhodes had been suffering from a lingering Illness and had a leg amputated some time ago. She was taken to the University hospital by Mapes ambulance on Wednesday of last week.

Survivors include the son, George of Baltimore, MD. and two granddaughters.
