Fountain M. Cain, 77, of Hawarden, died Friday, June 24, 1988, at a Hawarden hospital.

Services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 27, 1988 at United Methodist Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Paul Hansen officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers were Steve Cain, Daniel Cain, Russell Brandsma, Erlyn Cain, Robert Cain and Terry Waterman.

Mr. Cain was born April 4, 1911, at Grayson County near Clarksen, KY. He moved to the Hawarden and Ireton area in 1919. He married Hilda Marshall March 23, 1936 in Elk Point, SD. After their marriage, they made their home in Hawarden. He was employed by the L. G. Everist Company for 39 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Christi) Scheer of Red Feather Lakes, CO, and Karen Devries of Englewood, CO; a son, Richard of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.
