Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Van Egdom,63,of Hudson, former rural Hawarden resident who died suddenly early Monday fro a heart ailment, will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Congregational church at Hudson. Rev.David Graham will officiate with burial in Grace Hill cemetery at Hawarden.
Mrs. Nellie Van Egdom was born May 16, 1903 in Germany and at the age of 18 married Henry Van Egdom in the Netherlands. Shortly after their marriage they came to the United States and settled at Fairview, SD., later farming in the Hawarden vicinity. He died in 1946 after which the family moved to their present home in Hudson.
For the past 20 years Mrs. Van Egdom was employed as a practical nurse in the Hudson hospital. She was a member of the Congregational church, its women's fellowship and the Hudson Firemen's Auxiliary. Preceding her in death beside her husband were two children, JoAnn and LeRoy.
Survivors include four daughters Mrs. Elwyn Woodley of Upland, Calif., Mrs.Donald Anderson of LaMesa, Texas, Mrs. Clifford Jonnes of Beresford snd Mrs. Franklin King of Upland, Calif; four sons Hubert and Jacob,both of Curtis, Neb.,and John and James, both of Hudson and 13 grandchildren
