Funeral services for William E.Booth,73, of Sioux City, former longtime Hawarden resident who died Saturday night at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness, were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Heaton-Westcott Funeral home there. Rev. Luverne K. Clark of the First Presbyterian church officiated with burial in Logan Park cemetery. Graveside Masonic rites were conducted by members of Landmark Masonic lodge.
Mr. Booth worked for the railroad company for the 40 years before his retirement 10 years ago. Mr. Booth was born March 17, 1891 at Lake City, Iowa, He lived at Hawarden 29 years before moving to Sioux City. He married Edith Hunt May 5, 1922 at Papillion, Neb. He was a member of a Masonic Blue Lodge here, the Sioux City Consistory and a Golden Age club.
Survivors include the widow residing at 1001 Nebraska St; a daughter, Mrs. Leo N. Tangeman of Sioux City; three sisters Mrs. Hattie Provest and Mrs. Maggie Robinson borth of Riverside,Calif. and Mrs. Wade Oxenford of Costa Mesa, Calif; a grandchild and a great grandchild.
