Marjorie Ann Vander Berg, age 85, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in Sheldon.
Memorial Services will be Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Sheldon. Rev. Marvin Lindley officiating.
Her body was cremated.

Marjorie Ann Vander Berg was born on November 12, 1924, in Melvin, Iowa. She was the daughter of Arthur B. and Ida Mae (Deinema) Bornholdt. She lived her youth in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, where she attended school. She attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, for two years. While in Sioux City she lived with a group of college girls, with the housemother, Mrs. Grammer. These girls were collectively known as the "Grammer Girls" and were very close friends for the rest of their lives. She then transferred to the University of Iowa, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
She was united in marriage to Dr. Elmer H. Vander Berg of Sioux Center, Iowa, on November 21, 1948, in Arnolds Park, Iowa. They moved to Sheldon, Iowa, where she raised their family. Marjorie and Elmer spent many years traveling and were members of the Northwest Iowa Airstream Unit. Elmer passed away on May 26, 2006.
Marjorie was a member of PEO and enjoyed spending time with her friends playing bridge.
She passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in Sheldon.
Those left to cherish her memories are children: Michael and Lisa Vander Berg of Sheldon, IA, and their children: Kimberly (Michael) Coppalino, Christopher Vander Berg, Brian Vander Berg, Allison Vander Berg, and Jason Muecke; Martha Vander Berg of Scottsdale, AZ, and her child: Erika Swanson; Eric and Chris Vander Berg of Okoboji, IA, and their daughters: Staci Vander Berg and Shannon Norton; one brother: Richard Bornholdt of San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Elmer, her parents, and one brother: Robert Bornholdt
