Funeral Services for Robert H. Short,65, longtime resident of Hawarden who died Thursday at an Iowa City hospital, were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran church.

Rev. O.F. Pittack officiated with burial at Grace Hill cemetery under direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Mr. Short was born March 13, 1897, a son of Charles and Minerva Short, at Brandon, SD. He married Louise Klave at Sioux City November 25, 1939. He farmed in Minnesota and South Dakota before coming to Hawarden. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church having been confirmed May 12, 1940, Rev. C A. Burkhart officiating.

Mr. Short was employed as a Sioux county road maintainer operator. About two yeard ago he had an eye removed and had been in failing health since then.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers, Ralph and Walter, who died in infancy and Bert in 1960.

Survivors include the widow; two children, Ardis and Robert; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Wroten of Gardenia, Calif. and Mrs. Gertie Hardie of Strandsburg, SD., and a brother, of Duluth, Minn.
