Car Accident Fatal to Former Local Resident

Word was received by friends here of the death of Mrs.Gordon Comstock, the former Isabel Burns of Hawarden, in a automobile accident December 8 in which her husband was seriously injured. The mishap occurred in Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Comstock resided in Hawarden many years when her mother, Mrs.Kate Burns, taught school in the vicinity. She taught for a number of years at what was known as the Green Rural school, later teaching at Elk Point.

When in Hawarden they resided in a house where the John Harmelink family lived and later built a new home at 1502 Central.

Mrs. Comstock is also survived by a sister, Sister M. Kathleen who is at the mother house in Clinton. Sister Kathleen for many years was the organist at St. Mary's church here.

The Comstock has no children.
