Merle Bryson
Merle Bryson, 68, of Hawarden, died Wednesday, July 13, 1988 in a Sioux Falls hospital.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden, the Rev. Paul Hansen of United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery.
Bryson was born August 19, 1919, in Hawarden where he attended school. He served with the United States Army from October 1941 until January, 1946, during which time he served in Central Europe. He worked in Greenland in the early 1950s. In Hawarden, he worked for the railroad and later was a carpenter.
Survivors include a brother, Loren Bryson of Hawarden; two sisters, Claire Banum of Hawarden and Ella Mae Vande Pol of Watertown, South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.
