Paul Barry
Paul Barry, 80, of Rock Valley died Wednesday at. a Rock Valley nursing home.
Services were at 11 a.m, Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. William Wingert officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Friday at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley
Mr. Barry was born Jan. 13, 1903, in Rock Valley. He attended rural schools at Inwood and also attended the Nettleton College in Sioux Falls, S.D.
He married Gladys Hanson in 1926 in Canton, S.D. They farmed in the Canton and Worthing areas, and later
in Rock Rapids and Rock Valley areas.
Mr. Barry retired on the farm and moved into the Valley Manor in May, 1983.
Mr. Barry was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and John, both of EL Paso, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Ray (Bonnie) Cason of Venicia, Calif.; two brothers, Bill and Claire, both of Rock Valley; two sisters, Mae Schmitt of Sioux Falls, and Elsie Haas of Sioux Falls; and 12 grandchildren.
