MRS. TED BRUNSTING, 35
Mrs. Ted Brunsting passed away at the St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City on Tuesday, May 22nd, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Brunsting, nee Leona Mae Schalekamp, was born May 1, 1921, at Orange City, Iowa, to Mr. Neal Schalekamp and Minnie Van Roekel. She spent her childhood at Orange City attending the grade and public schools. She is also a graduate from Northwestern Junior College at Orange City. After graduation she spent a number of years doing office work in California. On February 3, 1947, she was married to Ted Brunsting, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luke T. Brunsting of Hull, Iowa. Since that time she, with her husband, resided on the parental Brunsting farm four miles north of Hull. To this union were born two sons, Charles Earl, seven years old, and Dennis Evan, three years old. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and two sons; her father and mother; one sister, Genevieve, Mrs. Peter Kleinwolterink of Orange City; four brothers, Dick of Cherokee, William and Adrian of Orange City and Marion of Maurice, besides a host of relatives and friends. Mrs. Brunsting was baptized in the First Reformed church of Orange City where she also made confession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Since moving to Hull she joined the First Reformed church and has been an active and faithful participant in the life and activites of the church and the community. Funeral services were held Friday, May 25, at the home and at the First Reformed church of Hull. Rev. Nicholas Rozeboom officiated.Source: Sioux Center News of May 3, 1956
