Martin De Jong 54, Orange City, died Tuesday, April 28,1992, at his residence after a long illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First, Christian Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Ralph Ponffer officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30-8:30 p.m., at Van Etten- Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Mr. De Jong was born Oct. 19, 1937, in Orange City. On Nov. 1, 1956, he married Geraldine Wielenga. He was a partner in De Jong Oil and Repair until retiring in 1989. Mr. De Jong was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and a former member of the Orange City City Council.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Darwin and his wife, Beth, Audley and his wife, Bonnie, and Alan, all of Orange City, and Leon of Sioux City; two daughters and their husbands, Marlys and Chris Eshelman of Estes Park, Colo., and Valerie and John Klynsma of Hospers; seven grandchildren; his mother, Etta (De Jager) De Jong, of Orange City; and three sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Rena) Lyons of Alton, Mrs. Jay (Trudy) De Vries of Norcross, Ga., and Mrs. Bill (Sandy) Van Horssen of Orange City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sam De Jong.
