Raymond E. Bender, 82, of Hawarden. died Sunday (July 19, 1981) at a hospital in Hawarden.

Services will be a 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Fouch Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in Violet Hills Cemetery in Perry. Family visitation will be from 7:30 to 8:30p.m. Tuesday at the Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.

Mr. Bender was born Oct. 24, 1898. in Millersburg. He married Mildred Walter April 5,1922. in Des Moines. He worked as a fruit processor for the Beaver Valley Canning Co. at Perry and moved to Hawarden three years ago. He was a Methodist.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter. Mrs. Robert (Jean) Lynodt of Hawarden: six grandchildren: 11 great grandchildren: three brothers, Leo and Warren, both of Perry, and Arthur of Ogden; and three sisters, Mrs. Evelene Hurd, Mrs. Mary Schurdt and Mrs. Leona McHenry. all of Perry.
