Elizabeth Joan Sitter, daughter of John and Effie (Van Der Veen) Sitter, was born February 1, 1928 in Boyden, IA. She grew up there. Betty graduated from Boyden High School in 1945. She then moved to Sioux Falls, SD.
Betty was united in marriage with Elton C. "Al" Cady on March 16, 1951. She worked as a PBX operator for John Morrell and Company until retiring in 1987 after 25 years of service. Following retirement, Betty and Al spent many winters in Texas.
Grateful for having shared her life are two children, Lynette Cady Thompson and her husband, Mark, Primghar, IA, Roger Cady, Oak Harbor, WA; two grandchildren, Daniel Colby Thompson and Megan Elizabeth Thompson, both of Primghar, IA; a great-grandson, Brayden Lee; a sister, Frances Vande Weerd and her husband, Chester, Rock Valley, IA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Al, on November 29, 2003; her parents; and a brother, Chester Sitter.
