Passed Away

After a lingering illness of several months from a complication of Bright's disease and paralysis, Mrs. Henry I. Trump passed away Monday morning [Aug. 29].

Grace Almeda Cannon was born in Mercer county, Pa., Nov. 30, 1848, and moved with her parents to Jackson county, Iowa, in 1855. She was married to Henry I. Trump Nov. 4, 1872. They continued to reside in Jackson county until 1882 when they came to Calliope. They resided there for a number of years and then removed to Brule county, S.D.. They returned to Hawarden about three years ago and built them a handsome little home and it seems sad indeed that she could not have enjoyed its comforts longer.

The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in Grace Hill cemetery. The lonely husband has the sympathy of all in his bereavement.

The actual spelling of her maiden name was probably Canan, which is how other family members spelled it.
