SCHOLTEN, VANDERBRINK

Greta Scholten, 50, of Inwood died Thursday, Feb. 16, in a hospital in Canton, SD, after a long illness. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 1984, in Christian Reformed Church in Inwood. The Rev. Tim Ouwinga officiated. Burial was in the Richland Cemetery under direction of Porter Funeral Home at Inwood.

Mrs. Scholten, the former Greta Van Der Brink, was born Oct. 22, 1933, in Ireton. She attended rural school at Sioux Center through the eighth grade. She married James Scholten July 11, 1952, at Sioux Center. They farmed near Hull and in Wisconsin, moving to Inwood in 1968. She was employed at Canton-Inwood Hospital for seven years.

Mrs. Scholten was a member of the Christian Reformed Church and the Willing Workers Circle of the church.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Duane of Everson, WA, Dennis of Inwood, Daryl of Rock Valley and Delmer at home; three daughters, Diane and Darlene, both of Inwood and Doris at home; five brothers, Frank of Doon, Keith of Boyden, Joe of Maurice, Richard of Luverne, MN, and Bill of Sioux Center; one sister, Mrs. Richard (Hendrika) Van Hill of Grand Rapids, MI, and eight grandchildren.
