Marian Gayer, 68, of Inwood, died suddenly Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1985, in a hospital in Hawarden.

Services were at 10:30 A.M., Saturday in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Inwood. Rev. Arno Frerichs officiated. Burial was in Richland Cemetery at Inwood. A prayer service was held Friday in the Porter Funeral Home in Inwood.

Mrs. Gayer, the former Marian Strubbe, was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Sioux County and attended rural school. She married Arthur Gayer Oct. 24, 1936, at Madison, SD. They farmed in the Inwood area until 1961 when they moved into town. He died Oct. 27, 1968.

Mrs. Gayer was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, BLCW, Rachel Circle and Sioux Settlers Homemakers Club.

Survivors include one son, Lornell, rural Inwood; one daughter, Sharon Gayer of Inwood; three brothers, Alphonse of Hudson, SD; Vincent of Hawarden, and Clarence of Indianapolis, IN; one sister, Mrs. Olga Sletten of Sioux Falls, SD, and two grandchildren.
