Ella Rounds, 79, longtime Hawarden resident, died Tuesday (Jan. 2, 1990) at the Hawarden Hospital.

Funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden with burial in Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden under direction of Porter-Dow funeral home in Hawarden. Rev. Loren Volger officiated.

The former Ella Carlson was born April 1, 1910, in Union county, S.D., to Swanaugust Carlson and Elsie Nelson Carlson. She graduated from Hawarden high school. She married Lloyd Larson in May, 1928. He died in 1942. She married Glenn Rounds Nov. 26, 1942 in Le Mars. He died Aug. 10. 1983. Mrs. Rounds was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Misison League and Ladies Aid.

Survivors are a son, Robert Rounds of Harlan; a stepson, Mark Rounds of Van Nuys, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Ruth) Koob of Hawarden and 10 grandchildren.
